I remember when I was a kid using a piece of broken glass to start fires with some dry grass. It sure beats rubbing that stick until you're blue in the face....lol.

Found out yesterday an other good way to start a fire with a fire steel on the easiest way.
Take a small cotton ball and rub it 2 or 3 times from all sides on a paraffin candle. Put the cotton ball into dry grass and use the fire steel on it. Use just the tip off the steel and go very close to the cotton so the sparks are real hot! I hate when people scratching all along the fire steel - this is wasting of resources and not necessary!)
The cotton catches directly fire with the first spark like it is soaked with alcohol !
You got fire on this way within 10 seconds! It is also helpful if you don´t find much dry stuff to start a fire.
With one package of cotton, compressed in a small and light box and just one small paraffin candle you can start many many fires easily!

EVERY other way beats the "rubbing fire" way!
Did you ever tried to do it with a drop of water ? NEVER try on cloudy days !!

You are right - I was looking like this when the fire has started :laughing7:

Just imagine:

All this rests of meat and stuff attracts Rat´s and other small animals you can catch directly out of your bead! You have a perfect trap right in your face!

That´s AMAZING!

Wonder why no one has made such a video yet and put it on YT.
