Speaking of Fire Strikers, :dontknow:, how is your toe ?

I guess this was the reason why I have aching in the leg muscles today.
Always tried to relieve any pressure on the damaged toe while walking and squatting.

But hey, at least I HAVE MADE FIRE! LOOK WHAT I CREATED ! har har har :laughing7:

From now you can call me Caveman!

Past my bed time once again. So much fun I hate to go. See you guys all later. im-bored-gif-5.gif

We used the 10X to do the same thing Bill, except it got the job done faster. :laughing7:

[/QUOTE

Did you every made experiments as child with a 10X ?
Ever hold it in an Ant way and watched what happen to this STUPID little guys ?
I just found out at the age of 10 that they just follow pheromones and don´t use their brain.... Comparable to us men if we see a nice woman :laughing7:

Simon,

Born in 1950 so do the math...lol. Keep in mind when I was very young we lived in the country and used what was nearby for the most part rather than buying stuff.

Today heck I've even got a 20x magnifier to check out coins, postage stamps, etc...I kind of miss the poor boy country style of my youth we were much more innovative back then.

Bill

Same tool I used , 10X. Are you that much older than us Bill ?:tongue3:

Wish I was there with you gold boy sounds like fun !! Good luck find something awsome. Peppers button a page or 2 back looked awsome. I just got a feeling your gonna score the goods today.

gold boy,

Go for the gusto and bring back some keepers. Try not to get discourged if there's lots of rusted iron nails from the house when it was standing. Also spread out the search area to the surronding parts of the site where there would have been lots of foot traffic back in the day to barn, sheds, well, etc.

Hey y'all.Whats a good sand scoop(probably w/a pole) for MDing at the beach ?

RTR... you will get many opinions on Tnet concerning this...

It depends on a few things...

Budget - if money is not a real issue.

Ability - is weight a real issue for you or is a little heavy duty ok.

Terrain - are the areas of beaches where you are primarily planning on hunting sand AND rock... Shelly ? more so than other areas ?

And a few more.

What may b good for me ... may not work for others... and vise versa.

Personally... I am a "once and done" kinda guy...

I carry what IMO is the "perfect" tool for me... but mine was made by me standing in a stainless shop telling them what I wanted them to use / do.

The guy liked then end result so well...

He continued to make them and sell them... not sure if he still does and I have long ago lost contact with him.

He was selling all the designs I gave him to Bill Jacksons.

Thanks AARC
Dont wanna spend a fortune on one.
Probably to be used mostly in dry sand, with few shells.
Weight ? As light as possible, but strong.
For coins & jewelry.

I might add... there was a local guy by me I found who was making the only scoop I have seen that I would have bought... but I am not sure he is still around...

Will try to dig in my memory / some info round here to see if I can find out ...

I know he was in Ozona.

IF you would like the info that is.

Got a pix. of it ?

Heh... what do ya know... I remembered... not bad for this time on a sunday...

I needed rest... glad weather has "grounded" me today... I needed it.

Been balls to the wall for months of warm weather now.

Name is "nuttall" scoop.

What I like about his design is the shape.

Yeah ,pix. of scoop

This is another way,

...And let's not leave out this preferred method that ranchers often keep to themselves. As I understand it, this is what causes many of the wildfires, but nobody is ever around to see "how" it happens.
