Relic Hunting
On Dec. 14 &15, Doug & I traveled to Arkansas to hunt CW relics with our Oklahoma friends John Freeman, John Jr. (J.J.), and Greg Wicks. Unfortunately, Josh (Tyree) & Terry Stewart couldn’t make this hunt. We hunted 3 different sites along an old military road used by C.S. & U.S. troops. Our finds are shown on the 3 towels with the exception of a post CW US rosette dug by Greg, 2 pistol balls found by John, and Doug’s first Marshall Enfield bullet. Not many of those here in Tennessee. J.J’s best find was a 1908 Barber dime along a camp road. John was the bullet master again with the most bullets and my best find was my first Confederate knapsack triangle. It looks different that the others I have dug. Greg dug the post CW rosette that got his BP up when he saw it in the hole-LOL.
I am still amazed at the variety of bullets we dig in Arkansas:
Balls-.36 & .44 Colts, Buck ‘n Balls, .69 cal.
Pistol conical bullets-.32 Smith & Wesson, .36 & .44 Colts, one Maynard.
Carbine bullets-.54 Sharps, Ringtail Sharps, Gallagers, Starr, Spencer.
3 ring-.54, .58s.
Enfield-Doug’s Marshall Enfield.
We had a great time hunting & visiting with our friends. HH & Merry Christmas from the Tennessee Trio & our Okie friends. Enjoy the video, Q.

Great to see you guys get some more relics from out there. It looked like a hard place to hunt in that turned up field. Good job!

Great hunt as usual Q! Love to watch you guys saving history.

Nice finds guys. Excellent assortment of bullets and balls that really demonstrate the variety of ammo used during the civil war.

Congrats. Nice finds and video as usual. Jim Reeves is one of my favorites. Hank Thompson done a good job on that song also. To bad country music isn't what it once was.

Nice pile of relics there buddy..Good amount of snow here today.
