I believe Nasa should still be funded and projects in the works.

I think we should get the $2 billion from the illegals sucking off the system.

it isn't the fact we spend that money for research, it is the fact that "the money" that we SHOULD have is being used illegally and more.

come on, no one would worry except for the fact the govt. is 'giving away out tax dollars' point blank.


time for a reality check and it is 'stop the wasteful and illegal spending' and we COULD afford our countries projects to improve mankind.

The thing is, what good is it knowing the dept of the lake and the composition of the lake on a distant moon of another planet? We haven't even totally explored our ocean. This is a make work project for NASA. Our economy is in a death spiral because of the price of oil. And they are just running up the cost. This is as bad as NOAA who can't even predict the course of a storm for one day and boy are they blowing the money. Maybe it's time to clamp down on the big "N" administrations. Look at NSA, over 10 acres of computers underground just sitting there tapping all phone calls. Ops, got to go, my computer line is clicking. Frank

Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt, working with the Fusion Technology Institute of the University of Wisconsin, has shown that helium 3, an isotope extremely rare on Earth, exists in quantity in the lunar soil, implanted by the solar wind. If – a very big if – thermonuclear fusion for energy is produced on Earth, helium 3 would be extremely valuable for fusion reactors because it does not make the reactor radioactive.

also if you just 'stop' NASA, uh, they employ thousands and thousands and NASA has contracts with thousands of companies. talk about a long unemployment line

NASA is a contribution to society but it takes time to make those contributions. I would like to see the welfare fraud stopped. I think we could find a TRILLION there in a heartbeat.

I don't think taking NASA's money just to keep throwing cash at a dying system is the fix. NASA took cuts. Now it is time for other situations like a ton of grant money out there to be chopped, get illegal money back, and a ton more

AND THEY need to manage Soc Sec better. FelinePeachy just post in politics forum a "did you know" post about SS. Any ex spouse if married 10 years and divorced can claim benefits on ex hubbys SS. NOW THAT is a drain. If he was married 3 times, 3 ex's over 10 years each in a marriage...all 3 can claim. along with the current wife also. SO LOOKING into SS would be a plus and chop those stupid benes. People can overdraw big time on what their contributions were added. The waste inside SS should be addressed before chopping other programs to save a dying ship.

I think you missed my point. NASA is a form of government socialism. I would prefer that private industry did the research and discovery in this nation. It would be cheaper and far more efficient in the long run. I am for less government controll. How many private companies would be wasting $2billion checking out a pond on a moon of a distant planet. That is pure gov. waste make work. I equate it to the arche's gone wild waste and controll.
As for SSA I am no fan of it either. I worked for a contractor there for a couple of years and saw the waste at the ground level. Employees only had to verify 3 cases a day. That took about 3 hours. They read mags or slept at there viewers till lunch, had a stretched lunch break and then back to sleep. In the stock room the cartons were stacked in squares . The hollow center areas used for "sack time". When I spoke to a supervisor they said the only way they could get rid of someone was to permote them. Employee's for the contractor only lasted a year or two there, then couldn't stand it. Frank
