Here is a partial list of such shows and which channels they appear on. PLEASE feel free to add to it. Also, ANY comments you have are welcome. Theories, guesses, and even proof are welcome. Of all these shows, how many have shown promise or even some success to some degree ? How would you make an interesting reality show ? Some of the shows took "creative liberty".
I have started this through disappointment of the direction some of the show's producers have chosen. :BangHead:

Maybe, if they are watching Treasure Net, they can pick-up some "useful" hints to become a bigger hit among the community here.
So please post away.

( These are NOT listed in any special order )

2. Legend of the Superstition Mountains - History

i've never seen any of those but i do like expedition unknown

Some folks on here get too "serious" ... these shows are entertainment first and foremost.

I'm entertained by several of those (Superstitions and Oak Island in particular) when I get a chance to watch them. Don't expect to see actual treasure hunters doing what real treasure hunters do.

It's ENTERTAINMENT, not something to get upset about. If folks don't like it, change the channel and go on.

Legend of the Superstition Mountains was pretty good. The red hand prints and the bat cave was far fetched, but that again was the production company calling the shots.
The Curse of Oak Island and Civil War Gold have gone to new levels with their creative approach.

Treasure Quest: Snake Island - Discovery / This seemed doomed from the get go, but then it ended with them actually finding "some" treasure. Real artifacts made of gold. And they applied for, and received, an extension on their search. But that has been sometime ago and no word on updates or a new series.

I've watched a few, but view them all as entertainment.

Entertainment is not necessarily reality though is it ? Much to my dismay, my wife is hooked on the so called reality show "The Real Housewives" large vomit-in-paper-bag-smiley-emoticon.webp
They have had numerous producers and some have come forward to tell that they were at times ordered to have "anonymous" calls made to the shows stars and spread rumours in order to lure the stars into catfights for ratings. If the producers did not comply, they were out of a job. Reality show ? No. Entertainment ? Only for those on medication. To me, Reality and Entertainment can be the same, or they can be totally different. When producers step in and alter what was something natural, then they loose the Reality aspect of it. :dontknow:

tell your wife I am disappointed in her Simon ( housewives, humbug)

You want to take her to Mass. next month ? I'll pay for gas.:hello2:

will she carry my beer without grumbling?

Sorry. :BangHead:

Have added a total of 9 more to the list. Many, I have not seen, some just vague memories.
Your opinions ? ? ?

i also watched diggers

I always knew Storage wars was fake, but a little entertaining.

Storage Wars is not as bad as some. It is interesting to see what they find, but at the same time you have to wonder if some lockers are checked before hand and then another lock thrown on :dontknow: Barry seems to have a lot of money to burn. :tongue3:

I think the turning point for me was the disappointment after all the hype for "The Billion Dollar Wreck ". This show gave me a wake up call. :BangHead: sinking rowboat.gif

I think all the producers of these shows are missing the obvious point

how about a show that mocks all the others?

say a dude (with his beer assistant) finds a gold coin in ohhh central park about an inch down?
while rubbing it and getting ready to run jump and tumble in pure joy, he looks at the camera and says "yeah right"

Kind of like having the host be Richard from Fast and Loud ?:tongue3:

Josh Gates from Expedition Unknown acts like that from time to time. He finds a little bit of something and then looked at the camera and said he quit. :tongue3:

I was thinking more like ME

richard is overexposed
