Found at the same site where I found the USA Continental Army pewter button a few years ago.

This is one of a few items we've never been able to properly identify.


We call them saddle shields. They seem to have been attached to leather.


A good number of them have been posted on the forums over the years.

It is either a leather strap end or a harness mount.
