Ring found marked with only "SOLID GOLD"---real?? Update: Pictures added

I found what looks like a wedding band, though not thick or heavy. It was pretty discolored after being in the sandy mud. There is no karat mark. Have any of you seen this before? What do you think??

If it was discolored it is not 24K. Maybe 10-12K.
Pictures would be nice!

It cleaned up nice which is a good sign. Look at it with a loupe and see if there is any sign of corrosion...if there is, it is not real.

I recently found this old ring, which is clearly marked "18" at an old site. Needless to say, it was only plated.

Hello, :hello:

Sadly its likely plated gold.... :icon_scratch: Normally by law the ring needs to state its purity in Karats (24k) or in Decimals (.999) if its real gold... :dontknow:
I don't think "Solid Gold" classifies as a Karat marking or Decimal IE: 24k (pure gold) or .999 (Pure Gold). ??? However the others are right the only real way to make sure is an Acid test from a Jeweler or pawn store... :icon_thumleft: :headbang:

Keep @ it and HH !!

I found one this morning around 3am on what was a high school and then junior high school football field. I found two rings along the sideline. Sadly I found the first ring after 50 can tabs and smacked it good with my army digger. The second says only
(solid gold)
