Dad & I spent 2 days - 10 hours 15 minutes - completing the Roman Site on the Hill. It took us over 4 acres of gridding to get the Roman Silver & its only the 2nd one off the site, even though we have had close to 400 Bronzes over the years!

18 Scrappies
Navy Button
3 Lead Tokens
Medieval Key
18th C Nut Cracker piece
Musket/Flintlock Furniture?
Medieval Horse Harness Pendant Hanger
Small piece of a Bronze Age Axe
3 Leather Mounts
2 18th C Clog Clasps
Bits....

Antoninus Pius - RIC Vol III 61 or Sears 4049 with AEQVITAS AVG Reverse showing Equity (Aequitas) holding Sceptre and Scales. Minted Rome AD 141. Obverse reads ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP T[RP] CO[S III] - It's not the prettiest but we were more than happy to see it!

Congrats on the silver:thumbsup:

We call them 'Ring Things'....lol

They have had many uses over hundreds of years. Started as military Roman fittings, but most are late medieval horse harness rings. Some are thought to be 18th C cloth buttons.

What a huge assortment of finds, and it doesn't get any better than topping it off with a Roman silver. Outstanding site and hunt!

Hard work and you have proven again that gridding pays off. Cleaned a bit more the Denarius will be pretty enough! :icon_thumleft:

Great variety Cru and that Roman is pretty darn cool

Yours and your Dads finds are always astonishing in age and quality .You guys need to write a relic I.D book. Great history and finds.
I learn a lot!

Well done on the silver 400-2 average is crazy for odds. Nice assortment of finds for the hunting time.

Most sites are about 60/1.

What an amazing coin Cru. My hats off again!

Picture of 6 scrappies added to top.

Fantastic recoveries there, sir!

Every Good Wish,

Buck
