I came across this last night and I searched for other information. and today I still can't find any. I don't know what the hell is wrong with people that thye are so freaken bored to make crap like this up! It infuriates me so much that I wish I could put a spell on the jerk off that made the bogus story and whatever he wrote it happens to him!

He was born in New Zealand - So he was once, worth some credits on this Earth.
But unfortunately, he then lived in Australia for a while and now he acts like a typical Aussie.

you did good...it is wonderful it is not true! I would love the chance to see him do another Gladiator movie...he is a great actor...wonder if he could sue the people that would be justice.

We're about to see if he's joined many other American actors in destroying one of our English Legends - Robin Hood.

Errol Flynn is a movie legend as Robin Hood, Kevin kosner did a good job in the remake of Robin Hood, and was one of his best roles...

Come on...Flynn's portrayal was pure fantasy and ridiculous! Costner was fine..if you prefer the romanticized and total BS versions!

Apart from this and king Arthur i don't think we've done anything about our legends.Not that sticks out in the mind anyhow.I'd hate to say any due to not knowing exactly who financed any that were made without googling all day..which i ain't gonna do! lol.
Depends on your definition of "Legend"? To me it's "no historical proof he/she/they/it ever existed".
If it's "the legend of jesse james" type of "legend"?...then we've made lots. "Henry the V"..."a man for all seasons"..."Elizabeth R"...."Henry VIII"..."Jack the ripper"..."Trafalgar"...and the never to be forgotten "James Bond"! lol.

Robin Hood is a legend, pass down through folklore and ballads, there are theories, but there are no written documents that supports if he existed, proof of who he was or what exploits he actually did and or didn't do, or even a combination of several different individuals, so Errol Flynns's portrayal is no more fantasy then the English ballads and folklore theirselves.

There's a basis of opinion that Robin Hood was invented by the English due to the fact that William Wallace..of "Braveheart" noteriety and coincidently another British folk hero played by an Australian-American import for a hollywood production...became such an icon figure and hero of the scottish people,and the common English peasants at that time wanted a folk hero too!
I forget all the details from memory,but has something to do with Hood appearing in folklore shortly after Wallace, his wife was called "Mary Ann"...as in "maid Marion",and Wallace had a younger brother and as William himself was so big and tall his brother "John" was always referred to by the men as "little john"!
It is said that Wallace and a small band of his followers hid out for a time in a large forest,adopting green outfits and attacking English tax collectors and redistributing some of the money to the poor.
I forget a lot but it's all online if you want to chase it down.Myself,i'm quite inclined to believe this opinion as to why so little factual information can be found about Hood.

It was not, and is not my intention to attack English folklore or legends, I merely meant since there is no written documents as to the exploits of the legend, it is kinda hard to say a movie about one is a fantasy with out pointing out the other.....Hollywood is in the business to make money, movies are filmed to do this, and documentaries on the big screen do not really make a lot of money...

I am 61, I grew up reading, and watching movies about the legend myself, and enjoyed most...........
