Detector(s) used
Minelab Quattro and Sovereign Elite
Came across a construction site the other day in an older section of Philly. Went back with my detector and beat the bulldozer to these Large Cents. An 1828, 1833 and a 1845.
The 33 looks like it was in a fire...the 45 has alot of detail left.

Keep your eyes open on them construction sites. You gotta act fast..They can pour concrete pretty quickly..Now this detecting site is just a memory... Sometimes the bulldozer does most of the work for you.

Happy Hunting

Jim

Excellent! That trio is in wonderful shape!

Wow, nice finds!

How do you handle permission on urban construction sites, find a site manager or hit and run or...? (Most of the ones I've seen are fenced from the git go and I've not yet been there at the right time to ask someone.)

Wow you folks up North find those LC,S Like weats are found.Nice -HH

Jim:

FANTASTIC Finds!!! Great advice as well!

Nice to see some inner city finds for a change! Most of the digs on the site are from rural areas.

...Some sites are fenced ,some arent...I dont climb fences, Im not too shy to ask for permission..If Im turned down, thats ok, find another site...This site wasnt fenced.

Thanks for the cool replies

Wow, nice job Jim! I'll have to remember that.

Can you imagine how many old coins are underneath sidewalks, stores, parking lots and other developments? I'm glad you got to those, they may have been lost for another hundred years, if not forever encased in concrete and never found.

Nat

Three LC's in one day? That's a good hunt, my friend! That 1840's copper is in fabulous condition--don't we wish all coppers came out of the ground as beautiful?

Nice work.

I can only imagine how many finds are just out of the reach of our detectors , too.
