Found a button that is riveted through leather. I can trace the Scovill Company but the front is harder to determine age and such. Seems with research dates it 1850-1860 possibly.

West Virginia. The thing that throws me off is the “Hanover Make” on the front.

I think that may be a shoe or boot button from the Hanover Shoe Company, founded 1899 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Can't find one online, nor a trademark registration for the stylised 'H' though. Not every company bothered to register their trademarks.
