Is there evidence for this?
Yes. There were many attempts to find the fictional treasure and several hunters built wood lined shafts.

Common knowledge.

Internet search is a simple technique one can perform.

The “garden shaft” the fictional show is promoting this year straddles the previous Hedden and Chappell shafts….which…..gasp!….used wood to line the walls.

Just crunching the numbers (I like #'s)
166 shows & 1 hr each-viewed by 2.5 Million
2.5 million hours per show (most of the viewing #'s were higher actually)
4,150,000,000 hours of wasted time.
That's amazing
That's nearly as many hours as you and Singlestack Wonder spend on a forum discussing something you don't like.

Surely spending time for enjoyment is better than spending hours writing hundreds of messages about something you dislike?

So they are getting closer to chapels vault...

But not enough time or money this season to investigate. So next season we will finally get to see rhe vault.
Every new shaft and tunnel leads to the money pit. "The Chappel Vault for season 11" has a certain inviting ring to the chant...

This week, they're still not allowed to continue with the Garden shaft, but it's the most likely location of the money pit; near the most promising gold trace reports (found at the same level as the 90 foot stone).
Pieces of fine highly decorated pottery found on lot 5, as well as Delftware/tin glazed pottery. More Templar proof coming next week.
Most importantly Miriam returns!

So they have FINALLY found the gold... The pink blob is without any doubt the massive gold hoard... The logic they put forward for this is without question as good as any they have offered so far...

How exciting.. who said this show was boring. cannot wait to see that gold....

A new day of excitement and anticipation on Oak Island as they work more of the gold-containing Pink Blob zone with the drill pattern. Everything is still pointing to the Garden Shaft.
The Roman half-coin composition was traced to the Iberian peninsula.
News on the Garden Shaft rehab permits: Dumas has submitted info for the new permits that they believe will satisfy all the concerns from the government. They are awaiting review.
Next week: learn how 4 lines can be drawn from Nolan's Cross to intersect at the Garden Shaft!

You say that, but the thought may have merit.

I’ve wondered if Nolan’s Cross might have been set up as a permanent reference point (as who would know it was there and who would remove it completely) to a spot well to the east just in case a total mess was made of the east of the island, as has happened.

I don’t suggest that this point is the Money Pit (too obvious), the Garden Shaft or the location of a treasure, or that there’s any magical geometrical formula hidden in ancient texts to determine the location, but whoever was responsible for the enterprise could have communicated the information to a designated retriever and nobody else would have had a clue.

We may scoff, but if the Cross is genuine and there's a deposit on the island then surely it could potentially serve a purpose in the process of recovery.

Many of us enjoy the show for whatever reasons and would like to come on here and discuss the good, bad and ugly of it. That being said we are getting tired of having pretty much the same people show up and try to drag us down to their level of hatred for the show.

If they hate it that much they should start their own thread "Why I hate oak Island" and go play in that sandbox instead of coming over here and posting their drivel with the intent of starting an argument
