I found a castle with "Box drains", you suppose another road trip across the pond is in the works ?

Walking through the living room, my wife is watching Ancient Aliens.

Sitting at the table, my back to the TV, I hear the narrator.

Wow, OI Verbatim. "Is it possible?", "Could it be?", "Could the Nazca Lines be Alien Technology?"

I google him and sure enough he does both shows.

Great idea!

What appears needed...Is a proper..."Metal Detecting Survey"...Of the "Entire Oak Island"!

I am willing to "Fund and Arrange"...a gathering of Interested Metal Detectors...to..."Survey The Entire Island"[/
This would be for the up coming "Fall Equinox 2018"!

Saturday...September 21 and "Equinox September 22" with closing date September 23, 2018.

It would require your own tenting and transportation to the Island.

Food and Drinks (Crown) provided.
Let me know your interest, so we may proceed with this!

Regards,
Robot

Count me in.

the carving is just to dead on to the cross found .... Im telling ya , it came from the castle gift shop

Any international Treasurenet forum members live anywhere near the castle? It would blow the entire show out of the water if those crosses are indeed available for sale....

I must apologize to the makers of the film on Oak Island. I watched the 1-17-2018 show, the first show I have watched. The show is not as bad as I thought, quite good as a matter of fact. I may watch some more later. REALLY GOOD SHOW.

Do you really think that there are lead crosses available in the castle gift shop? Come on, give these guys some credit. All this talk about them planting things seems pretty silly. The story has always been in the hunt. It's interesting to watch what they are going through, the wack-jobs who come out the wood work with their theories and the amount of money they are spending in pursuit of a dream. I always figured if I hit the lottery big (but I don't play), this is what I'd do. Search for some lost treasure throwing gobs of money at it knowing it's the journey that's the real treasure.

The Archeologist did not seem very impressed with their piece of lead. He also said that he did not think that the cross had been in the water for very long. It was a laugh when Marty said "our initial research suggested it was hundreds of years old" That research being Gary... I wonder if we will ever see it mentioned again. They also owned up to the fact that they had detected the whole area before and found nothing of significance.

Their hole showed nothing there. When Marty was saying how could nothing be there. This does support the deep stuff (tea cup etc) had fallen down a drill hole from earlier searchers. I also see they did not recover the coin they dropped down theirr hole...

It was interesting how much the pattern drilling deviated from straight down. I think that whole bit in the war room was spliced. I think it was before they dug their big hole. They way they were talking with they guy from GEM about the metal anomaly it was before they drilled as they were discussing the likelihood of there shaft getting everything shown in the area. It would seem pretty silly to have dug their big hole before seeing the data from the pattern drilling. That computer generated info would of been available pretty much straight away.

They then discussed the area the pattern drilling had not covered. Everything after this seemed to have been a different discussion about whether they were going to dig a second hole..

The most promising point is that there is no way that anyone will be able to believe that treasure is still there when they finish drilling all there holes. The whole area will have been drilled to death....

Planting is possible, but the cross will be conclusively authentic if they have it tested and dated (unless they forge a test report) - lead has a definable aging curve from time of smelting.

another week and still nothing, just like toad's brainscans

My understanding is that the original smelting that creates the lead ingots can be dated. But if the lead is just remelted into another form it will not change the dating.

So if an old musket ball was remelted into a cross the date would be from when the lead was first smelted and not when melted into a cross (it would not even be the date when the musket ball was created but the initial lead ingot).

Still if the lead is modern it would prove the cross was not ancient...

The lead cross without oxides on a cobble beach showing very minimal damage must be a fairly recent drop.... Wow who would have thought?

They could dig the whole island down to molten lava and some people would still believe they missed the treasure somehow.

+10..........

To me the cross looks modern in the sense it looks like the interior of a cheap gold plated lead filled pendant..
When I was confirmed Lutheran I received a similar gold cross during the conformation ceremony. It eventually fell apart exposing its similar lead interior.
The outer was a gold plated tin like material witch came apart fairly easy.
Just my opinion..

1/23 COOI wrap up(SPOILERS):

So here we are:

H8 is a bust.- I don't know how they can dig more dirt and get less finds. Makes no sense.

Craig Tester, DONE- Craig is leaving the project. I believe it is a combination of things as the reason why he is leaving, however, I also think that his health is deteriorating. Whatever his reasons, I wish him well.

Gary- Well metal detection expert b3y0nd3r says that the beach is to fluid to find anything that would be truly in the original spot. He should be concentrating on iron artifacts and while there are tons of them, they will give a more definitive answer. Now this will take a long time, but he's an expert, he should be fine.

New dig- So they pick a spot and say "the data says dig here". I don't think it's the most logical way to do that. The whole section was dug down.

My opinion- If they are going to start random digging, the start away from the main area about 100-300 feet away from the main pit. Start in the woods by looking for the oldest trees then bore down with small test holes. They stand a better chance of finding virgin ground.

Greg Tester said, that once he leaves he is not coming back THIS YEAR. He is going home at some point and spending time with his wife to help each other thru the grieving process after losing their son. He did not say he is finished with Oak Island all together forever... Granted he might decide to not come back ever but it is not because he is feed up with the search...

This DECADE, will still be going In 2020
