Season 5

do they know that steel and iron are MAGNETIC---- drop a large insulated electro- magnet---
if it doesn't stick___________________ you MUST 'QUIT

nice kitchen armoire lock cover from early 1900's, GAWWY------ that BRASS skeleton key almost looks NEW, they cleaned ALL the patina off.
any Jr. high school teacher could test specific gravity on that GOLD cross

next week---- a jewel ----COULD IT BE ??????---- lost by Sherpa Missionaries from the Himalayas :dontknow::dontknow::laughing9:

Guess anything is possible. I would assume that filming the show for Marty is a time consuming process and not much fun. Does it because it helps fund the search, and maybe by helping on another show/adventure it will fund them to continue the search on Oak Island without the cameras.. I'm sure over the years they have learned to "play along" with making the show whether they like it or not it's free money for the search... We'd all do it probably if in their position...

True. Also factor in that Marty loves his brother, and would do anything to make him happy.

Just from looking at the piece of jewelry, it's obviously from Nefertiti's lost ruby necklace when she vacationed in Nova Scotia back in 1335 B.C.

I see you are throwing your thoughts in here? Do you have actual proof the cross is a fake? No, I do not believe you do.

The cross is a fake item planted by the film crew. If one believes the story line where the cast went to a castle in Europe, saw carvings they stated were made by finger nails and teeth in stone, and then the 1st thing the "metal detecting expert" finds on the next show is a cross that perfectly matches the carvings, then send me $10,000 in cash and I'll sell you a map to the REAL LOST DUTCHMAN'S MINE.

Could it be more $$$ and less taxes in usa ?

The show has less appeal to me every week !
and everyone knows the cross washed in with the fake Roman short sword.
Bring back that guy ...he `s insane !

Narrator...." What's that? A fake ...I mean lead cross that washed up with a fake...I mean roman sword? Could this the key to the (fill in the blank) treasure said to exist on oak island?"

I agree with everything you said. As you mentioned, short of them finding any real treasure, they want to go out with a bang. Finding bones or other material from the 17th and 18th centuries is not that big of deal, if there's no treasure to back it up. Everyone knows the island has had settlers over the past 3 or 4 hundred years, so finding worthless items from this era doesn't really change anything. This is why they're working the Templar angle so hard and why the cross came into the picture. Short of finding the treasure, they want to convince the audience that they have proof that the Templars were here hundreds of years before the first explorers. People watching this have to ask themselves that if the producers truly believed this was an 800-year old cross, would they wait several weeks to have it tested? The narrative would've been so much better of they had it tested first and then bring in these so called experts to fawn over it. Instead, we get these wild speculations about the cross being anywhere from 1,200 BC to 1,600 AD.

Yeah, and yet I've continued to watch this show for 5 YEARS. So now that I think I see the end game I have to ask myself why and was it worth it? While the hyperbole and crazy connections were easy to spot, there was still something compelling about the process. Sometimes I wanted to bang my head against the wall with some of the searching techniques and conclusions drawn. But still the process of digging and drilling and the obstacles and objects they found were just enough to keep a thread of hope alive enough to spend another hour watching the next episode. Hope for what? I dunno, maybe something really unusual or even man made at depths that don't make sense. It doesn't even have to be an object worth anything, just evidence that people had been deep underground on that island doing anything but digging holes to find a supposed treasure cache.

The most convincing theory I've read explaining all of the unusual things people have found on the island over the years (triangle swamp, french drain, ancient cribbing, strangley carved stones, etc.) was that the island may have been used for salt production back when salt was still a "currency". There is also a paper out there that breaks down the myth of the island compared to the myth of the story connected to the island. Takes some of the fun away from it all but if you're interested, it's out there and it explains a lot of the things we've seen on the show past and present.

All they need now is that flipped out hillbilly "Josh" from Moonshiners to show up !

The treasure is on the next island, the guy that had the huge foot

If you take into consideration the weight of gold, add the weight of lead and put all those rhomboid figures on a necklace with a lead covered gold cross ... All the templars would have to be He man just to carry them off the boat. They would not be washed up on shore they would be in the waters of the cove thats been dug up over and over again

I completely understand where you're coming from. It's like me investing 6 seasons in "Lost" and being completely disappointed at the end. As a Civil Engineer I still enjoy seeing the hammer grab go into the shaft, even if it just pulls up wood and dirt. I'd much rather watch them try and fail to find anything on the island than have to listen to all the crackpot theories. It's like watching a detective trying to put together all the clues to solve a murder mystery, even though there's no evidence of a crime being committed or even someone missing.

I'm surprised the narrator hasn't slipped up yet and said the word "aliens" on this show. I'm sure he's chomping at the bit to blurt that out.

watching the Templar "expert historian" WADDLE around was Hilarious---- let's go dig the cove ....... then they shift to other crap theater----- Robert Clothead should just S T F U .....:BangHead::angry4::tard:

You Say... You Are Having Problems Drilling Past Where The 90 Foot Stone Was?

My Language 3.webp

My theory states there is no way you will drill past all the "Metal Debris" the "Freemasons" placed at the bottom of the "Money Pit"!

Well they were able to drill 4 test holes around the perimeter of the drill shaft just fine.

About history:
Anyone had related the carvings in France with the carvings in Royston?
They are similar and at least one is very similar to the cross carving in France! Why the cross they found in OI need to be related with French castle and not with Royston cave?

I think there big find of the season has to do with this dig

This has not been shown to us yet. It looks old and the ladder he is resting on shows it goes into a shaft. (It is interesting that Craig Tester is in the photos so it was obviously found before he left the island ).

In relation to where the current hole is, if they had drilled the test holes in the same place you would a) they would of come across the obstruction and b) The water would of been there straight away as the test holes were drilled down to meet up with the underground water sources/bedrock (as shown by their earlier effort where water started coming out everywhere).

two shows left or I think I would give up watching.. The last few episodes have just been largely pointless....

It now appears that the main find will be revealed last episode as a pretense for the next season...

All crosses are similar....
That is why they are called crosses.. The claim that the Laginas make that it is virtually identical is the BS here

This looks simply like a case on Confirmation bias

Confirmation bias, also called confirmatory bias or myside bias, is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.

To me the cross and the fingernail/teeth carving only look vaguely similar....
