The Christmas rush was over and it was 35 degrees with no snow. What's a girl to do but go hunting? I headed for a new farm house that I just received permission to hunt. Research shows that there was a house here at least as far back as 1873. The owner is working on the current house so the yard is pretty torn up. Not long into the hunt I got a good signal and came up with a dirt-covered quarter. I could just make out a seated Lady Liberty, my first!
A while later I got another good signal and fought through some roots for a coin. Gently cleaning showed an 1865 2 cent....another first! Best relic was a pocket watch cover. It was a nice sunny day and a lot of fun rescuing a couple of oldies from the dirt.
HH and thanks for looking,
