secret room???? enter but beware???

Hidden rooms are cool. A longtime friend of mine lives in Spencers Island Nova Scotia. He is a caretaker for a small country church across the road from his house. The church dates from the early 1800s. Behind the alter there is a secret room. Acording to the old timers, different animals were jacked and hung in the room. If a member of the church needed food for the family, they stayed till the service ended, and was invited to the room to get food. The lord takes care of those in need.

Well just drill a hole in that there wall, and stick one of those cameras on a flexible stick, and have a look see!

Sent from a couch potato...

Hmm. Is it possible it was a celler door type entrance from the outside of the house at one time and rather than replace that door and access they blocked it off?

Six inch gap between door and wall, why leave a gap? It would be holding back soil filling old entrance or stairway.

I would Have been I there with Pictures But I Like Tearing stuff apart!!! Chug

First download the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft, read through them, and then tear out the wood wall and enter with just a candle for light.

And report back with images!

Real treasure hunters don't let a little brick or block wall get in the way!! lol

Right on.... Curiosity would have been to much for me. I may have been sorry I did it after I torn it down.... BUT it would be torn down or into. After going 1.5 hrs. deep into my cave and my head barely above water at times... tearing down a wall is child's play. I totally agree with you Nitric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow are you kidding, you dont want to keep going to see whats behind the wall
even though its prob a bomb shelter or root cellar, id have to know LOL

my fam bought an old vic for our 1st home, the 2nd fl had been remodeled a
2nd hall closet and 2nd bath was added, we were playing hide and seek in
the house, and my cuz hid in the hall closet, he said it was hollow, dad takes
a look and finds that a section of the floor, opened up to an old stairway, and
under the back of those stairs was an opening, that went to another set of stairs,
that lead to a old part of the basement, that had been walled off, because the old
stairway had been the back stairway to the kit, so when the kit was redone, there
was no room to keep that stairway, there was just junk in the room, but it was a
cool find, and lots of fun. the house had a door like relevent posted, it had an old
blocked off stairway too,it went to the mud room at one time, and there was no
door from there to the rest of the basement, we only got to live in the house for
about a yr 1/2, while on vac. the house burned

So my wife and I bought this house about 5 years ago. I have found many items that have been hidden or just forgot about. Before we bought this house they had a auction here and I thought they would have found everything but to my luck they didnt. Recently out in the shed I found a 1920's louisville slugger. I got $250 for that, not bad for something hidden in a wall. Anyway back to the secret room, or maybe not, here it is...... My house has brick foundation with a full basement that is half laundry/work space and the other is finished, as you enter the work space there is a closet and when you open the closet there is 5 shelves but behind the 5 shelves there is another door, when you knock on the door it sounds like there is another room. When you are in the front yard and you hit the ground with something fairly heavy it sounds somewhat hollow. SO THE QUESTIONS IS----- TO ENTER OR NOT TO ENTER has anybody ever come across something like this???? Input would greatly be appreciated!!!!!

These people did:

Wait a minute! you said ,behind the shelves is a door. Now I am wondering,is the door just a backing panel to support the shelves, or does it have hinges and a latch? There might not even be a room there. All this speculation for nothing. Did you notice there has been no reply yet? Frank...-

I believe this was put to bed with this post.

I put that wall up so I wouldn't be bothered! I do appreciate the Wifi service though. It was kinda getting lonely in here.

Kidding, I am not on your upstairs phone.
