Hi all,
Gary and I went back to our favorite site, Happy Trails. We usually hunt here when it's so darn wet out you can't hunt anywhere else. Of course not all of this site is high and dry. So we have been hitting one area pretty hard. The crazy thing is we still are finding silver at this site.

Gary found 3 silver dimes, a 1925 Mercury, 1946 & 1963 D Rosy's. He also found a Silver 1944 War nickel and two wheat penny's.

I found 1 silver dime, a 1942 Mercury dime, a 1941 Silver Quarter and a Silver 1944 P War nickel and 7 wheat penny's, mostly in the 1940's.

I'll say one thing, since we have hunted this area so much, because of the wet conditions everywhere else, we dug all signals good or iffy that showed up on the ACE 250 screen in the coin area.

I dug my Mercury dime up with an iffy signal, in the coin area of the screen, with a depth of 6 inches. It was down 7 inches in good wet soil.

HH all and hope you had a great day of hunting also. Ringfinder

I have 5 County Atlas Maps with all the townships in them from the 1860's. We look at them and look at the plate maps from today and compare where things used to be at on the maps.
Many towns on the old maps are no longer around, but on the old maps they are shown. Old churches are great places to hunt, especially the ones that aren't standing.

People have a way of hunting a site they can see, if it is not there, they pass the site by. Research is the key to any good site to hunt. A little research or a lot, pays off.

Most of the guys on this forum, that find good items, time and time again, have found those sites through research. Just ask Mirage, Nate, Danimal, Zoyboy, Doyboy and they will tell you the samething. They find there best finds at places no one else hunts. They have found these sites through research at local libraries and museums.

Hope you find your hot spot, Gary and I are looking at old maps now, looking for our next hot spot. HH, Ringfinder
