First picture with the bit of chain is Cru'dad's solo scout for a couple of hours on 2 fields - no real joy there!

This morning we spent 3 hours on a new hilly field. Although we found a few signs, Medieval Pottery, animal bones, some lead we really only got a light scatter of random stuff;
1 Roman Coin
2nd C AD Trumpet Headed Brooch (broken)
Spec. Buckle
Roman Hair Pin (bit)
Crotal Bell
Hammered Penny of Henry V - York Mint (First hammered off this new farm)

After lunch we spent 2 hours back on the Shot-Gun Alley Field;
Spec. Buckle
Medieval Horse Harness Pendant
Roman Tweezers (my best example)

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Never seen tweezers unbroken... I like the Trumpet Brooch, a type we rarely see. How long do you have fields available? Two weeks further and the winter season has an end here. :-\

Yeap, they are due to drill the crop in about 1.5 weeks. However, its dependent on the weather. The issue now is that we have run out of detectable land, we need the ankle breakers rolled down.

First time I heard and I saw Roman tweezers! Nice find. This explains the eyebrows of Maximus :laughing9:

No way here. Most roll the ankle breakers down with one tractor and drill the crop in with the second... We hope for bad weather. :laughing7:

Silly question. Ankle breakers? What...large hard clods of soil?

Tweezers are a very unique indeed.
Nice finds

Yes a 9 inch turn in heavy clay. Left over Winter to let the frost in.

As usual, I'd call that a good day. Love the tweezers!

We'll done on the silver and the tweezers.
Many would think it was just a bent cutter pin, and chucked it in the scrap pail.

Beauty set of finds Cru. A nice complete spectacle buckle and an older hammered is a beautiful thing. And those scissors are incredible!

Hi, wow those are some great finds.:icon_thumright: Congrats

Save a few things for me will you? :laughing7: I'll be plundering your fields this Saturday for a week. :icon_thumright:
