Pretty sure its a double barrel. What do you think? Clean more or leave it be? Electrolysis?
Careful inspection shows no writing. I'm going to be obsessed with this object until it can be identified. Your expertise and opinions are sincerely appreciated! Happy hunting.

evaporust, it's much more gentle to the surface of the metal than electrolysis... It could be any one on a hundred different break action shotguns, if you're lucky you'll find a maker or model name engraved on it.

I agree with oldmxrat also. Why? Because I found a Champion in my attic last year. The name would be on the side that is in your first pic. Nice save.
