SILVER, Buttons, CW bullet, Buffs, Bling, & Tiny Teapot

I hit my new spot after work for a few hours today again. I must say, this has been one of my best houses for finding old coins so far. I still need to break into the 1800's though. My 1901 "V" nickel yesterday almost made it. :'( I finished up most of one of the side yards, and the finds were plentiful. ;D I can pretty much tell you this is a virgin spot because of the old coins & buttons I'm finding in the yard. If someone hit this before, they must have had their detector turned off. :o ;)
Today's finds were:
*1944 Merc

*TWO 1951 Rosies

*1926 BUFF & one no date Buff

*Wheats- 1918 , 20 , 56 , 57D

*A 3-ringer. My first CW bullet at this new spot.

*Three BUTTONS- I could use some help IDing all of them if possible. Any idea? Circa?

#1) A beautiful gold gilt 28mm with "Philadelphia Maneto" on the front, and a "Superior Quality"
Circa- post 1900's?

#2) A28mm flat button with a "BEST" back mark. (circa 1820-1840)

#3) A tiny 14mm flat button with what appears to be a small eagle at the top of the back mark. (circa 1820-1840)

*Small Teapot with "FGH Design - Made in England" on the bottom.
Could use help IDing this little guy too.

*A costume jewelry earing with green gem piece. No markings.

Thanks for looking Folks.

Kirk,
You're right. The back marks are a match. I got luck on this Philly button and my POLICE button yesterday, The gold gilt was in fantastic shape. On the Philly one I cleaned it up with a toothbrush and some ammonia. I can't believe the shine. Both the Philly and the Police buttons were found fairly close to the house. Maybe they never saw any chemicals or fertilizers over the years?
These are two of my best buttons since I've been MDing.
Hopefully someone can tell us the age and who would have worn it.

Speaking of pulling things up. I've already pulled up three different old rusty chains from the ground at this new place. Unfortunately there was nothing on the other end. Maybe that's a good thing? ;D ;)
The owner told me they buried her aunts dog "somewhere" on the property. She said he may have been buried with his collar. Oh boy!

Nice finds Doug...your small teapot with the holes, is what we call a tea ball strainer.. it should have a lid, you would put loose tea in it..soak it in your teacup and take it out when it looked strong enough for ya to drink..

Good call, Booty! ;)

Here's a pic of a similar "teapot" figural tea ball or infuser.

Your Welcome sir. I'd still like to know how old it is. The gilt on the front is outstanding. The back mark is identical to a Police "P" button I found recently back of the "P" button below

KirkTN,
Two piece buttons are mid 1800s (about civil war) to late 1800s. You will find a lot of two piece military service buttons and you can almost bet most of the time they are circa civil war ear up to near turn of the century...kind of like this one...I'd bet that this little baby is a civil war uni button

I didn't see this stuff until tonight. Your making a haul each time you go to that spot. Very Sweet. ;D

The two buffalos look pretty beat but at least the one has a strong date. :)

The buttons are cool - I like finding the ones with an intact loop.

Re: SILVER, Buttons, CW bullet, Buffs, Bling, & Tiny Teapot

MM,

Nice digs!  That teapot...I saw a few eBay.de ads for pieces of dinnerware made by FGH Designs in England...none were a match.  They made just about everything though, so it's only a matter of time until one turns up.  The ones I were looking at were Salzdöschen (salt dishes).  Nice ID on the teapot shaped infuser, folks!

Thanks everyone. I actually have a surprise TN guest driving down here to MD with me tomorrow.
Let's just say he's a great guy, a long time regular TN member from the Midwest, and he swings an SE.
Hint: What state is round on both ends and HI in the middle?
