Yesterday i went to a buddy to hunt on one of his favorite fields. Its fresh disced and walking and digging is easy. The soil there is not that good for signals and after weeks with no rain things didnt get better. But these fields were known for finds from roman up to WWII. Yesterday proves that again. An other challenge is lots of junk because of flooding from the nearby river every year.
But here are the finds!
Starting with buttons German Military, 18th century, 16th century, Buckle 14th century, Brooch, cuff link, part of a german dog tag WWII, bowl lid 19th century i guess, two medieval finds, one handle of some kind and a whatsit with gild left.
The better things: Nice roman fibula 2-3th century :headbang: and a small figurine of the mother of god :icon_thumleft:
And finally the silver: Knive handle, 20 Kreuzer coin 1764 in amazing condition exept the scratch from the plow :( and the best of all a Denarius of Nero 54-68 :icon_thumleft:

OMG that a Nero...fantastic, congrat!

You are friendly,( I see myself.) Big waste little good. Congratulations. Fine Nero. Ossi

OMG, the silver coins are superb. Well done! Wuertemberg rules! Hahaha.

Love the Jaegermeister bottlenecks with caps on your junk pic. Reminds me of my childhood, finding those miniature liquor bottles under bushes in the fields near my grandmother's home. Seems german hobos love their Jaeger to keep them warm...

The lead figurine is a small copy of Michelangelo's Pieta :o (but lacks the crown ) , a marble figure that is considered the masterpiece of Renaissance ..... The Nero Silver Coin is great.

RIC Vol I 53,

NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS
Rev IVPPITER CVSTOS Jupiter, bare to waist, seated left on throne, right hand holding thunderbolt and left a long Sceptre.
Classed as Rare.
No direct Sears comparison but similar to Sears 1943 booked at VF £275 and EF £675. It is believed the coin may be referring to Nero’s deliverance from the conspiracy of C Calpurnius Piso in AD 65.

It's a cracking coin, & quite a few other nice pieces as well :hello2:

Shame, you can't track down your own site, or a better one  (It may happen yet!)

Thanks all! Im trying to figure out the mint of the denarius. Some of them are pretty rare.

Thanks to Crudad! :notworthy:
Its is difficult to find a match. The one You mentioned has some differences on the throne. My coin has a very basic version, most other have a more decorated one.
I am still working to find a good site near my place. But im confident! The (maybe) villa site will be open soon. I have a meeting with my archie on friday. That will be helpful too.

slip of the finger, should be RIC Vol I, 53

There is no sears reference, so it was a similar one, just for price comparison only.

The chair is different, but the other information & most importantly the Rev Legend all fit, its not that unusual for die variations to be slightly different.
