In what felt like ages (Over a month), I finally made it out this Saturday. Joined up with Tom to hit a small section of a park that we've detected at numerous times. I wanted to come back home with at least a Rosie, and I had faith in an area that had produced them in the past. This place seemed to have dried out completely until the day I went there and found that first SLQ. I went back on a latter day last year and found a Rosie that marked the 50th silver coin of the year. Tom was there a few weeks back and took home a merc.
I was there for almost two hours with some clad in the bag when a shallow dime signal came through to bring out the barber dime (2 1/2 to 3"). I was greeted by the "One Dime" and immediately recognized it as a barber. I wasn't expecting it and Tom was in disbelief. Out of 5 1/2 to 6" and some zig-zag roots came the merc. Icing to the cake and as a bonus, a fairly shallow Rosie at about 3 to 3 1/2".
Incredible day for this park.......lots of work and extremely tight coil sweeping. Lots of penny signal digging. Anything that made a brief jump into the dime range would get dug. All three dimes did not make their textbook tell tale position well off the screen. They were the 1/2 way out of the window clad dime signals. Still sore from that day......something that would not be the case with the conditioning I had developed with that heavy machine. Photos enclosed.

Wow!. . . Great dimes; That 1916 is my favorite (same date as my first Barber)

Take care & HH!

Nice to see your getting back out and digging those silver coins again, the Explorer will feast on silver this year for you!! Congrats on a very successful hunt!!

Great job pulling the hat trick out of that hunted out site!!!!

Well done!

Your season is getting up and running up there, and I'm sitting here in KY brooding about the winter window closing. :P In another week, the fields will be plowed. It's like a playground with a "Closed" sign. The retreat to the yards won't be that much of a shift--it'll be nice to be able to sweep without hitting rocks and trees, falling in wells, or chopping snakes in half with my shovel. 8)

Best wishes for a good spring's worth of nice silver coins! I look forward to your next video.

Regards,

Buckleboy

Nice! I'm glad you were finally able to get out!

See you at the Staten Island hunt?

Cheers and HH,

Ricardo......3 silver day. Not bad at all buddy! I did the same exact thing "barber, merc, rosie" just the other day.
I've been kinda wondering where you have been lately. Good to see you out swingin'! 8)

Hey, Ricardo. Been wondering where you've been.

Looks like the silver is not eluding you. Nice job on your trifecta.

WTG Ricardo!

Really nice coins...and that Merc is so crisp. The Barber is a bit worn but a beauty and AMAZING to find. My thoughts go out to the history those coins could tell us.

I'm continuously surprised at how many coin losses there are in the parks. I did a little experiment and dropped a dime in the grass while I was at my local park...AND Zip the coin disappeared in the grass so completely it was really astounding ... and there is the answer I guess.
