Silver in my uncle’s backyard

Found this in my uncles back yard looks to be a belt buckle or a pin of some sort

It’s silver
But Dow’s anyone know what LF 30 is

Hell of a score!! Im thinking the LF is the makers mark and the 30 might have something to do with size, im not 100% on that though.

Nice buckle. The maker is La Secla, Fried & Co of Newark, New Jersey. Active between about 1909-1922. Not sure about the '30', which could be an internal company style number, date code or whatever.

Probably 'sash brooch' might be a more accurate term than 'buckle' per se. I don't know about value. They made some similar items for Tiffany (but they're marked as such) and, in nice condition with no missing parts, those go for about $250. This will be a LOT less, not least because it's incomplete, and you should probably regard its value more for it being a personal find than a saleable item (apart from melt value).
