Today I went into the woods and wanted to go along some stone walls behind an old farm house. While in there I noticed what appeared to be where an old road was so detected along that. Along with the assorted junk of shotgun shells etc I found some good silver. First I found a 1908-S Barber dime, then about 2 feet away from that I found a 1929 Merc and not too far from those I got another penny/dime signal and thought I found another dime. Dug and out popped a silver chain and I said to myself, "so much for another dime", I then re-checked the hole and my detector screamed with a half dollar signal and I pawed around and found this 1893 Columbian Expo commemorative half dollar. It looks like it was some kind of fob at some point?( I took it out of the casing shown above it). I also found a brooch and some kind of bullet shell I;ve enver seen or heard of before. It is flared at the end and the shell butt says "Wise 1718-80"...not sure what it is...any ideas???

The brass tube thing may be a ramrod tip from a muzzle loading rifle . What does the end look like ? Oh and by the way all that other scrap you found is OK too .

PW..Thanks for the input. I reposted the shell in the What is it forum...someone came back stating it was a fuse/primer for a cannon, most likely from WWI or WWII. It does look like very much like a ramrod tip, but it is definitely a shell for on the butt end you can see the primer and where the firing pin struck it.
