SLQ, Barber Dime, A Broken Digger & Another Video!
Went out today, well that would be yesterday (Friday) to the very same park I've been going to alot this past month or so. The choice is to either hit the picnic areas and come out with a better number of coins, or head straight into the woods and possibly find an older coin. I chose the woods.
Moving around with no particular grid pattern as I usually work at this place, I come across a nice and deep quarter signal. This one was definately distinguishable from the iron hits that register at the quarter segment of the Explorer's screen but do not have a coin like sound. This one definately did. i really lament and kick myself all over the butt for not having brought out the camera. I dug down 7-8" and looking at me was that eagle. Low and behold another standing liberty quarter. I looked at it thinking, "Damn, I should've filmed this one". Besides the iffiness of the deeper signal, I had just dug a deep clad quarter minutes ago, so that also had an effect on my decision not to bring it out.
Moving along and about 6-7 feet away, I get another deep signal. This is one of those signals that is sufficiently deep or the coin is on edge where you know it's definately a coin, but you do not get the pitch out of it that would help you identify it. This is best known as the "Warbly" sound and I can best describe it as perhaps a speaker that sounds like it wants to blow out. In any event, I did bring out the camera for this one and managed to get the barber dime on film. Photos and video enclosed.

Suprisingly, I do this mostly when filming only. I'll be honest, if it's a Rosie, it really wouldn't matter, but when I see it's a merc or something older, I leave it as is until I get home, like this last SLQ.
your reaction was classic even if I did not see your face. You just kinda said oohh.... then you look at the digger like what the.... Man that's hilarious !!
