so you've lost your motivation to detect how do you get it back

I guess a lot of tnet members must have been where I'am at the moment yea I love this hobby of ours but just lately is seems to lost its appeal at some point mainly when the finds dried up.

How did you rekindle your love affair with detecting ideas suggestions welcome,

Buying a new detector helps or a new tool to use in the hobby. Buying a new book by CJC. Look in the ole lady's closlet at all the shoes...............

Sandman.... is right a bout all the shoe's.....No a New detector or a bigger coil to re-hunt the spots........enjoy!

Take a break from swinging and do some research of new areas. Or, in my case, wait for the snow to melt.

My motivation has been being married for 28 years and wanting to get out of housework on the weekends.

Actually you need to get out and take a ride around to just locate yourself a few new spots, knock on some doors, and get permission. If you can scored one or two large properties they can keep you going for years. Good luck and don't give up!!!

I agree, getting access to new property will do the trick. There are plenty of other members on here that live in the UK near you. I suggest meeting up with them and going out on a hunt in some areas that they may have access to. Once you get 1 or two really nice finds back in your pouch, that fire and love for the hobby will be renewed again.

Any fellow Brits on here care to help this guy out and take him along to hunt some fresh property?

find some fresh "meat" --new land to detect --a bit of research can do wonders * find a new hunting freind --folks often know differant spots --share spots / trade spots

I just read about what others are finding on T-Net and that always gets me pumped up to go out....this winter is killing me...please an early spring.

Hit the library and so some research. Find some old places and then start trying to get permission to hunt those site. Older site may mean better finds......Matt

Find a kid in your family or that you know that shows an interest in MD and teach him what you know. Nothing better to get ya going than to see a kids face light up when they discover something new, potentially exciting and profitable. Anything to get them out away from the video game machine.

Well, 3-4 feet of snow blanketing everything will make you die to get out there.
