too small to be a nut cracker, and i dont see any way it could have attached to a fire extinguisher, i appreciate the input though. its solid metal and it is hinged at the bottom, prolly weighs like a pound or so

It,s part of a plumbers snake.The steel ribbon thing you push thru your pipe to unclog it.The flat tape goes thru and slides thru as you extend it and when you clamp down with the gizmo you can get a good push on the tape.Repeat until the clog is gone.Don,t bite your fingernails after using.Could be wrong but got a good feeling on this one.

I,ve used one before on my own sewer line.Now I know why plumbers make the money they do,and worth every dime of it too!!!!!!!!! 4 rules for plumbers-Stuff runs downhill,hot on the left cold on the right,paydays Friday,don,t bite your fingernails.Love this forum too,learn something every day.
