Last summer I worked a high school very hard. It took most of the summer to get thru it, but I was utterly amazed at some of the items that I found. No silver coins, bud did find a few silver rings. Some of the items that I came across really had me scratching my head. The first picture consists of 3 lock dials. To what? I don't know. ??? I do know that I never found the safes. The second picture is of an old spigot. Neat piece. The third item, and they were buried, consists of a trumpet and a tuba mouth pieces. Let me tell you, they drove the old MD wild. The 4th item is a baseball badge. On the back it says: League 1979 1st, and the last item is a class key and chain. It is stamped on the back as being made by Jostens. I know that they make class rings, but the rings are stamped 10 kt. There is no stamp, other than their name, on the back of the key, so don't know if it is white gold or not. Many other items were found, but this was some of the more unusual. Hope you enjoy them. :D

Couldn't the dials have come off of lockers? Neat finds! Congrats!

Nana :)

Really like that baseball pendant it looks really cool. Congratulations on your finds.

It's hard to tell the size from the photo but that spigot looks like it is actually from a gas lamp fixture.

The lock thingies definitely came from school lockers
and the class key is something the seniors usually buy
around graduation time, plated normally.
Nice batch of finds you got there. Congrats!
How much clad did you end up with? I'd bet a lot.

I think the dials came off combination master locks that were broken, the dials pop off pretty easy.

The dials are off of Master combination locks, the spicket is a gas spicket. I find a lot of those dials in some of the strangest places. Some cool finds on working that school.

It's about a fourth the size of the picture. Still has some of the original brass color on it. It even cleaned up nicely, and works great.

Thanks for the identification on the lock dials. When I was in school, many moons ago, we didn't have lockers with locks on them.

As for the amount of clad that I ended up with, it was over a hundred dollars worth.

It is a gas lamp valve. Here is one I found last year.
Nice finds!

Thanks for the info. I really had no idea as to what it was.

Either that or padlocks. I found 3 of these at local middle school.
Paul By the way nana ROll TIDE

Actually the finds are not unusual but to be expected from a school....all relate to a school including the gas cock.

Nice finds! Here's what those combo dials are from:

They come in blue or black. I've found both varieties..all the ones in my collection were found in schoolyards.

Thanks for the photo. As I said in an earlier posting, I just guess it's the times, but its been 40+ years since I was in high school, and even back then, we didn't have or need to have our stuff "locked" up. Thanks for the photo
