I don't pretend they are gold.
I was using my detector in a stream on vacation and these gave a strong signal on my mxt pro
How can I tell what they are? ( non magnetic)

A trusted jeweler or coin shop to acid test may be a way.
There are D.I.Y. kits on the market too , but not worth the expense if only for a single use.

Hit it hard with a hammer. Gold will flatten. If it shatters it is (was) pyrite.
