I took off of work about 30 minutes early today to do some detecting before it got dark. I found a spot that I hadn't detected before. The first target I dug was a 1952 Canadian cent ~ a wheat cent that's so corroded that I can't make out the date ~ and a 1930-S Buffalo nickel ~ and a dateless Standing Liberty Quarter with a "D" mint mark. So then I call my buddy Ron to see where he was detecting at ~ he was just a few blocks away so came over to where I was. As soon as Ron got there I dug a 1944 Mercury Dime. Then just a few minutes after that Ron yells to me . . . . I didn't hear him right the first time ~ I thought he yelled "FIBER" . . . . so I looked up and yelled back, "WHAT?!" I see him looking at a coin in his hand and he yells again ~ this time I hear him more clearly, "BARBER!" ~ So I walk over to him and he hands me a 1916 Barber dime! NICE!!!!

Here's what all I dug today:

7 clad quarters
12 clad dimes
1 nickel
35 Memorial cents
one wheat cent (date?)
1930-S Buffalo nickel
1952 Jefferson nickel
1944 Mercury Dime
Dateless "D" mint Standing Liberty 25c

Those standing Libs are always neat to find. good job.

Hey OC

Nice finds!!

The way the shadow is on the SLQ makes the last digit looks almost like a 4 as in 1924. I'm sure it is just a mark but photo's sure can deceive at times.

thanks for the neat writeup and fiber is good.
