The 3 datectateers got out yesterday to a site that Zoyboy had researched. Let me 1st start off by saying, "This site sucked!" :D The site had potential, but once we got to it, the grass was knee high and every signal turned out to be soda cans or gaaarrrrrbage. :D Oh well, at least we can knock it off the list. :D We have LOADS of ra-search still in the file and they ALL have GREAT potential! :D Look out for us in the fall....LOOK OUT!

I forgot to mention, I did get a 1927 Standing Liberty quarter. :P I got the signal, dug it out, and once I saw what it was, I thought, "I guess." :tongue3: For what we seek, this is not something that I call a great day, but is still appreciated in my collection. :icon_pirat:

Seriously, this was the 1st day this year that we all were verrrrry troubled while detecting. :D I looked over at Zoy and saw him cursing under his breath. :D I looked over at Zeus and saw him cussing at the trash. :D I look over at Colonial KirkPA, oh wait, I am Colonial KirkPA...well, the words out of my mouth weren't ones you would hear at a Sunday morning church service. :D

Keep the passion high!

Sorry you had to settle for finding the new junk coin there!!!!

It is still in my top 10 to find items. Keep swinging you'll hit the old coppa again soon.

You should come detect here in Tennessee it would make you appreciate an SLQ.
Call it rehabilitation. LOL :o

Newbie to the hobby here and would jump for joy at that find. I hope I can have enough success that someday I too will be disappointed at finding only an slq.

Every pro gets to that stage. :tongue3: Just joking, I guess every detectorist is different. We have those clad dudes and then we have those Colonial dudes. :D

Yo, Kirk!! How's it going, buddy?

It's good to see you getting out with your bro and uncle. I hope this wasn't another "pukey" day. ;D :laughing3:

You have found a rare coin for most datectorists; a very popular one I'm sure on many's wish list. If I'd found that coin, I'd be going back to the same place to find a barber/seated.

I know you're looking for the really OOoooold stuff. You need a Colonial fix, my friend!!
I wish you the best of hunts on your next outing!!
Get back out there and keep the passion high!!

Dan,

Hey, man, it is nice to hear from you. I have been super busy during the last few months with work and all, so my time on the forum has been limited. :) I still try to keep up on what everyone is finding though. :)

Yesterday, Stacia and I went to Gettysburg. She wanted to visit the Boyd's Bear factory, so I decided to take her. :D Two hours later, we were in the store and shopping around...she was. :tongue3: :D We did drive by the battlefield, but decided that we will come back in the fall and go on one of the bus tours. This place has such a historical feeling about it. While I was driving by the numerous fields, I couldn't help but think about all the CS buttons that were buried in the dirt. :'( :D

Overall, it was a great day spent with my lovely woman. :) I hope all is well with you and Val, my friend!

As always, keep your passion as high as ever, man!

Nice dig on that slq buddy  Those are very hard to come by in my boring world of deep silver park huntin' :tongue3:
I know you colonial huntin' fellers' would just as soon throw it in a gumball machine ;D...but those are very on a park hunter's dream list...includin' mine :D

I'm surprised you didn't leave it for someone more deserving :D

Hey Kirk why don't you send it my way? I'll have my daughter burry it in the yard and I won't look then I can go out an find it. Then I can scratch that off my top 10 list!!! :D ;D ::)

Hey Kirk,
That Standing Liberty is TOO NEW for you fellows up there and it ain't copper. Still it's nice to find some silver coinage once in a while. Now get back to those nice old coppers and relics dude. I can't believe all the stuff you guys are finding up there. That's alot of work and digging dedication.

Yeah! I live in KY and I ra-search those coppa sites.

I don't mind a SLQ if it has a date. :) But I'd rather have a coppa or a Seated coin.

Not a bad find Kirk , not bad at all ! Beats finding nothing and with Colonial Kyles research ability and bloodhound tracking he'll be locating more old taven sites & colonial home sites with handfulls of coppa coinage !

I noticed you didnt meantion any spewing out the car window so glad your well
