Haven't searched in almost a month with family home and having lost my weekly half dollar box order. I finally bought 2 boxes of dimes to get the year rolling. One box was a full box of 2012-D. The other box had a roll with a silver ender. It looked like another silver on the other end. I opened the roll and found this

10 silver with a beautiful 1940-D Mercury. I normally find 1-4 silver per box so already a big score. Here are a couple other rolls in the box

45 silver in total. Only the 1 Mercury plus a 46, 2x46-D, 47, 2x47-S, 48-D, 48-S, 50-S, 51, 51-S, 2x52-D, 2x53-D, 3x54-D, 56, 58-D, 2x59-D, 60, 4x60-D, 3x62-D, 3x63-D, 2x64, and 9x64-D

By far my best single box of dimes. Nice way to start the new year of CRHing.

Better go and get some more- gotta hate them solid 2012's though- went through at least 60 boxes straight earlier this year, when the '13's come out I may just quit it was that bad.
I had some boxes like that earlier- several in fact, best roll had only 15 clad. A friend of mine got a box from work that was so good it had 3 solid rolls- yea I was jealous.
Congrats on the silva, HH Mark

Nice Cull! You can only find silver, if you look for it!

wow, just wow. That has to be considered a dream box for dimes. Your just not going to find one of those very often. Best score I had with dimes was $85 worth (all the teller had) and I got 16 silvers. Best box was 12. CnC had boxes like that before, someone must have dumped a large collection. I always pick up CWR when I can in hopes of a solid roll.

Thanks everybody. I've been serious with CRHing and on this site almost 6 years and my best single box before this was 8 silver. On average I'm happy when I find 2 or 3 in a box. Nice to have a big find but it definitely takes persistence and being willing to take the losses when you dump (usually 2-3 that count as cents per dump).

Best box of dimes I've seen. That Merc is in great condition...most of the ones I find are black and mutilated

Fropa,
A very big congrats to you. I am sure most will agree that your post is what is "supposed to be posted" on T-Net. This is what we do and we celebrate each others finds . . . along with giving solid and valuable advice with out improper comments.
Kudos to you for a worthwhile and exciting post. This is the best post I have seen in a very long while. This is what I miss most about the Net.

That must have got the adreneline going when you opened that roll. Congrats on a great box. I would say that Merc grades AU! Looks like it was minted yesterday.

That is an amazing dime box. Congrats. I haven't been on the forum much in recent weeks but I want to echo apush's comment about this kind of thread being what people come here for. And recent comments from mods about not tolerating the ghetto posts we have recently been plagued with is long overdue. Hope I never read another post that includes the phrase "home slice" again. Good luck to all the hunters.
