Started a New Job Today. It Ended Badly... More Time for Treasure Hunting :)

I was in IBEW union for only 11 years, now I started drawing the union pension in Nov and I can't complain, it want take long for me to get back every dime I paid in union dues....

Glad your happy TH... I'm happy with my pension but not talking about pensions from the company. I was referencing the policies in which a union puts everybody in.... like one size fits all. I had to watch 6000+ people at my plant all being treated the same, covering for lazy employees, covering for drugged employees, bringing back fired employees w/pay (great vacations). Any idea how hard it is to NOT follow the herd if you have a better idea? The non-union plants pay a lot more than I ever received. My union assumed everybody was equal... and that's not how the world works. I didn't "dummy" up till I had 18 yrs. in and a large family. Companies offer pensions.... unions accept them. My union dues are NOT responsible for my pension.

I worked for 3+ decades for a union and hated what they did for me. My union held me back worse then anybody could of done. My union was another version of socialism... where everybody is treated the same. Not everybody is the same... everybody being an "individual" at times is not NOT under a union umbrella. God bless "Right TO Work" states.

Agreed. God bless the Taft-Hartley Act and God bless the 24 states that believe in it. Oh, and God bless the fact that I can still say "God bless"!

Hi AusTexDude; I hear ya. I did Security for 14 years. I was highly trained with Police Powers. I met all types. Especially the pinheads like the one your talking about. Last one I met made the mistake of having a cake in his hands as he berated me. Chocolate frosting does an amazing job on a persons complexion. The shock factor alone was well worth it. I started a new job the next day. Good job bud. PEACE:RONB :laughing7:

Hood bless the 40 hour work week, brought to you by unions.

Limit, I'm talking about my union pension, it is seperate from my company pension, my union pension is paid by the IBEW... I get a union pension and a company paid pension for the same job ...

I agree with what your saying as far as treating everyone the same Union kept wanted to lower time period of the progression scale to reach top wage. I did not agree, someone with 5 years did not have same skill knowledge as member with 15 years..

American by birth, Patriot by choice.

I would rather die standing on my two feet defending our Constitution than live a lifetime on my knees......

Recently I read an interview with one of the richest men in America. It went sort of like this. " How did you get so rich?" " By doing my best at every job given to me. Never thinking how late I had to work even if I didnt get paied for the extra time worked. What mattered to me was getting the job done." By doing that you got rich?" "No! By convincing my employees its true.""

Escape! that is a sweet bit of propaganda! May I use it?

Propaganda or properganda is the only ganda I know.

I always thought a "Propaganda" was a well-bred goose with very polished social skills.
