Steel spike?

Found this were an old homeplace used to stand on a friends farm about 2 miles form Shiloh park, Tn. Sorry about the fuzzy pix of the top. What do you think it's use was?

Affraid it's just a old rusted into bolt.

that's a beam spike from when they notched beams together and used the spikes to keep them in place
