Found a bracelet today that is stamped Sterling and has a symbol of what looks like a pyramid stamped into it also. It doesn't have a .925 stamp, so I wonder if it is plated? It weights 11.2 grams. IMAG0564.jpg IMAG0563.jpg

Any thoughts?

For all of you Fisher F2 users, it registered as 95+ at 4" down. Its the first time something has registered that high and not been an aluminum can.

Sterling means the same as .925, so no it is not plated. The rest is the makers mark which is difficult to trace. You found a lovely piece of silver.

It's a bit unusual for it to have both the sterling and the .925 marks , but the good news is they both mean the same thing as far as the
silver content (925 parts per 1000 pure silver !) Looks to be a Navajo style baby bracelet - Nice find !

I don't know of any jewelry manufacturers that still use 'sterling'. This -might- be an older piece. The other mark would be a brand hallmark from the jeweler.
