STILL PLUCKIN'EM

so me and tomfromnj did some searching today and found this little town that had all the makings of a good score ( small bank , a lot of old people, and a town that's like a 1/4 of a mile ) ..needless to say we found a bank that had $30 of CWR halves... Here is what we found 6 40% and 1 90% .. That puts my weekly total so far at 15 silvers .. Still have a lot of days left in the week can't wait !!! :)

I don't get it homie, so you two go around to different banks together...who gets the keepers? Do you guys split it or is it whoever walks into the bank and buys them gets to keep the silver while the other person waits in the car (Alternating).

well right now I'm the one keeping the scores cause I'm dishing out the money .. Tomfromnj is busy with planning his wedding so just for now he's helping me build my stack ..after he's taken the plunge we will alternate and or who ever has the cash !!! Tomfromnj finds a lot of CWR he should be called silver sniffer !!!

How do you know the die silver? Both metal types were produced that year. Magnet test my friend.

You said you found it on a magnet right? Then it's steel not silver

ok so did more research and missed the info about the three different % of metals produced in that year .. that being said this dime is not silver just thought that the 50% other material was strong enough to stick to the magnet .. my bad !

No, it's pure nickel. They didn't start using steel till much more recently.

nice try home skillet, nickel doesn't stick to magnet

Dude, I collect older Canadian nickels. They are pure nickel and magnetic. They did make other compositions during war years when they needed the nickel for war effort. You may be confused, thinking about US nickels, which are only 25% nickel, and not magnetic. It's easy enough to look up on the web. Check it out.

He is right em nickel is one of only 4 metals that is magnetic. Not one of the strongest but it is.

Nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel that is why they are not magnetic due to the majority of the coin being copper.

I stand corrected my bad. Interesting I didn't know that
