Wow that is good news. But I hope the artifact is not lost. Unfortunately after this much time it may have been melted down and sold for gold content. Possibility of a rogue collector to buy it intact for historical value? Common coppers interrogate the crap out of these jokers!

Enrada said he thought he knew the guy who stole it. I wonder if this confirms his suspect.

I hope they buried it where I'll be detecting next

Square peg, round hole?

I'd like to know how they got it out, or did they just simply cut it in half and run?

The original artical said the thieves smashed the plexiglas housing.

Plexiglass is easy this was bulletproof glass

Before the heist, the museum had encouraged to visitors to pick up the 74.85-ounce bar to feel its heft. The bar had been on the display for more than 20 years, and the museum officials said more than 6 million visitors had lifted the bar. However, that unique set up may have helped the men carry out the theft. Police at the time of theft said the thief broke the display case -- made of bulletproof glass -- to extract the bar.

Wow, they must have used a sledge hammer. The glass on the one in Sebastian is an inch thick.

Pry bar I would be willing to bet...

Hitting would have caused too much noise.
