This is for everybody, but directed at the Georgia folks in particular and I know it's a long shot, but it can't hurt. Somebody broke into my shop and took this frame of birdpoints off the wall late Saturday night or early Sunday. This is the only picture I had, and the one circled was found in two pieces years apart. Please keep an eye out for them when you're around town, sales, ebay, Craigs, wherever, although I think these were stolen for the SOB's personal collection. All personally found over 25+ years of looking. What sucks is that it was a customer or "friend" that has been in my shop before and spotted them. Then I noticed yesterday that two pictures of my children that hung beside the points are gone too. Don't know if he grabbed them in the dark wanting to make sure he got the points or if he's some kind of weirdo. I really got mad after that.

Man that sucks Sandchip. Like you said it is a longshot, but I am sure that we will all keep our eyes and ears open for any clue to help catch the scumbag(s) and hopefully get your items back. You are probably already doing this, but the police should be contacted, as well as the local pawn shops, auctions, local artifact clubs etc. A similar thing happened up here not too long ago and it turned out to be a young relative that stole the items. Good luck, and sorry to hear about this.

I hope that you called the police and reported it. The value over a certain amount makes the theft a more serious offense . Sorry for you loss and keep an eye on the kids. That alone would have me notify the police.

man, that is a nice collection too!Must have been a crackhead or something. He probably found that ,and was feeling around in the dark and thought the picture's where framed artifacts too?Good luck, and good idea posting it!Maybe you should start keeping stuff like that at home.

Too bad :( VERY sorry for your loss.

And an additional negative is that the primary suspects would include friends and customers. You'll have a very hard time trusting for a while.

You might note that whoever took them may or may not be in to see you for a while. On the other hand, the individual may come in almost immediately to gauge the response....

You got yourself mess on your hands.

I will post this on some other sites, hate that you have had this happen to you.
I just posted this on some different site's, all together they have over 20'000 members all over the USA. Don't know if it will do any good but it cant hurt.

you sound like a good guy, kids more important then objects, dark when they came in,look outside when you can see light check to see if they tossed the picks after they could see what they took. if a kid did it most likely on foot, was broke in before what they did not take made me think a little more about it

He was in a vehicle.

Sounds more like a "X" trying to get back at you.

I'm sorry to hear that. I just don't understand why people do stuff like this. And it's dispicable that they stole pics of your children. Material objects can be replaced but pictures can't. I hope you are able to recover your loss that was a beautiful collection.

Do you live near Milledgeville? There are two flea markets , both named Auntie Bellums, one is downtown and the other one is off 441 toward Eatonton just across the second bridge ,on the left. They buy and sell artifacts, I am going to town here shortly ,I will look and show them the pic, the folks that own it are good folks....Carl

I'll copy your picture of the stolen points and e-mail it to all the relic hunters that I know here in Southwest Georgia. Some of the fellows I hunt with don't hang out on TreasureNet but none of us likes a damn thief either. What general area of Georgia are you in so I can add it to my e-mail lookout? Good luck and I too would suggest that you contact your local Sheriff or City Police Department.

Gee...very sorry you had that happen. :-[ But sounds like you've got a lot of great support from the guys here....hope they're returned to you soon!

Don't have an X, nor have I had anybody on the side. Been married to the same woman for 27 years.

To those asking, I live in Macon County.

That is a shame. Some artifacts have monetary value, but not much can replace the time or history we put into building our collections.

I you can track them down.

Why would they be interested in the pictures then? Doesn't make sense to me. As far as the return of the artifact circled I would have to say it is very slim it will happen. Unless it is somebody you know.

Like I said in the opening post:

"... What sucks is that it was a customer or "friend" that has been in my shop before and spotted them. The pictures and the frame hung right beside each other, get it? And nobody hangs around my shop, so it more than likely would have to have been a customer, so of course it was somebody I know.

The entire frame was taken. The photo is an old image I had posted in another forum years ago where I had circled one that was found in two pieces years apart.
