Stone Marble?

I was out looking for arrowheads when I saw this marble on top which I thought was a musket ball till I passed my detector over it and it didnt beep. So then I thought it was a clay marble. But it dont scratch. When I drop it from a tiny distance on the table it sounds like stone. After looking at it real close and tapping it on my teeth lol..I found that it is stone. So did Indians make stone marbles? Also its not perfectly round

They did, but I've also heard of them using those in an industrial setting as tool sharpeners. I did read one thing about those marbles. They also thought they would put them in a fire, get them red hot and drop them into water to warm water up. Maybe one day everyone will know their use. Anyway, nice find.

I know I find them as well and always keep them. I think they probably gamed with them but I am unsure on how they were formed. Maybe somebody will know a little more and chime in.
