Storming St Augustine beach in August

[Peyton Manning]

Anyone have any useful info to offer?
About beach detecting there
Or sights to see
Or good places to eat?
All I need a is one good diamond ring that will pay for my trip!

[releventchair]

Should be at least one ring. Maybe a diamond , maybe not.

Best thing to do would be to do what you already know how to do....Enjoy!

If you don't already by habit , watch upshore if legal and check eroded places well above the towel line if you get bored lower.
Especially deeply eroded areas. They gain you depth. And could hold storm driven stuffs.
A lakeshore I've frogged around detecting on had a couple cuts that had (minor) stuff in them I probably wouldn't have hit on without the erosion.

Keep it fun regardless.

I love beaching
Only problem is carrying my beer while swinging

A belly is a little like a canteen....

A spotter would be nice.
Have one bury a beer every few hundred yards ahead of you.

[Peyton Manning]

Good idea

[villagenut]

Then you can tell the officer you were detecting just to clean the beer cans off the beach.....all 24 of them. Well that is if you are not planting bottles....which I prefer.

[villagenut]

Oh btw, gotta go see the fort and old historic street buildings , I got some great pizza there once. Oh and the graveyard was super cool.

I don’t like glass on a beach, too much bleeding potential

[villagenut]

Yes, and I don't think beer beaches allow glass anyway

If it's still open try the Saltwater Cowboys. I guess a quick net search will answer that and the location. Enjoy, it's a great city to visit.

i liked fort matanzas-reminded me of the alamo-to me it looked like the same people could have built it

I can also highly recommend The Penny Farthing B&B in case you are still making your plans. Great accommodations, several pkg deals, excellent breakfast. We got married there at the inn, and then a carriage ride to the Casa Monica restaurant for dinner. That's another excellent restaurant you might try.

[Peyton Manning]

Already have a condo rented ( on crescent beach)

Anyone know if metal scoops are prohibited?

[Sandog]

Can't help you there. Wasn't detecting at that time.

Storming in St Augustine in August ? ? ?

How do you know what the weather is going to be like in August ? ? ?

:P

[newnan man]

Irish Kevin's for food. Right in Old St. Augustine. The distillery tour is fun & good spirits. Cresent Beach is a little drive to St. Augustine but not bad. Very pretty area. Have fun. (stay away from Jacksonville)

[Peyton Manning]

I prefer local breweries

[Peyton Manning]

Just a few weeks yet.
Anyone from Tnet in the locality?
How about part of a day fishing?

[Peyton Manning]

I’ve always wondered this
Do you concentrate hunting by tall buildings?
Is it worth trying the beach lined by one story dwellings?
I figure search where there are the most people
