I went hunting on Sunday and thought I had a good day 1899 Barber Half, 1908 V nickel and 2 old wheats. I also found a crappy looking aluminum ring, so I thought. I left it on the workbench and didn't even clean the dirt off of it. Well today I was cleaning up my junk and sorting it out and I cleaned the ring. It's not made of aluminum no its solid gold. The karat mark is hard to read but it's there and the ring is cracked and the gold goes all the way through so it's not plated. Looks like some type of ladies wedding band. Thanks for looking

Happy Hunting

Haha that's great! Nice ring, good thing you cleaned it up!

Nice looking ring. A good little tool to have is a jeweler's loupe. Makes it easier to see if you have tired eyes like mine, lol.

Good thing you looked harder! Nice ring.

Nice. Like the design!

Yep always check what's not marked. Congrats!

I did the same with a bracelet that was minus the clasp.
