survey on silver coin depth

Here's a survey for any detectorist who has found a silver coin....

On average, what is the depth you are finding silver coins?

Speaking of deep clad, my archenemy or nemesis likes to detect my hotspots behind my back, and when he digs something up he either drops a zincoln or a 59 memorial penny back in the hole..which really burns me up.
though I take comfort in knowing it will probably detect those, its self next time..*it* being him, less than pond scum.

Yeah, disturbed ground is how you get clad at 9 inches. Someone could have dug a hole and the coin got deeper when they filled it back in. Lots of scenarios for coins to get distributed at different depths. One park I hunted had newer beer cans at 14 inches. You couldn't tell the ground had been altered but it obviously had been.

Yea, here in Texas , the ground will crack about 2-3 inches wide and sometimes 24" deep....So I know some coins "can" fall down while that happens...But a Beer/Soda can that deep, Not a good sign

Most of my silver coins have been 4-6, so my average would be 5"
