Skunks have little to no fear of humans, or anything else for that matter. They are fully aware they are "packing heat". I used to camp near here up on Trey Mountain and they would walk right up to the campsite at night and beg for food.

My aunt used to have two that she kept as pets that had their scent glands removed. They are 90% fur and can fit through a hole about the size of a golf ball.

A friend of mine has several chicken houses, and if a skunk ever gets into one they go on a kill crazy rampage. They just start killing chickens and they don't even stop to eat them. They just compulsively slaughter them one right after another until you bust in and dispatch them.

Anyway, back on topic. How did this skunk get into your home?

Neat, our desented house skunk was named Lola Bundy and she liked to bite your toe if you were dumb enough to try to scoot her over a little with your foot. Now a days the skunks I run into don't smell much but they come usually come in card board boxes.

Pretty cool pet Looked them up and unfortunately they are illegal to have as pets in my state. Would make a good guard-pet though, people wouldn't know if you had it descented or not

Looks like several have owned skunks, myself included. The one I had came from some people in town that had to move. They only fed this chunky thing bread, topped with butter and sugar. I tried to wean her off of that diet, but all she did was scream bloody murder when I or any male human came near. My buddy's girlfriend could cradle that skunk in her arms though.
Needless to say, that weasel found a home elsewhere.
