THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

Thanks MasterEagle,

I think your right, he did say something about a road trip.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone too ;D

Didn't mean to exclude you sorry. I cannot wait to meet everyone! It is jsut that Borninok is the person that turned me on to this hunt and I feel I owe him at least a thank you and a drink.

We had been lucky here in the Dallas area up until this week. While the mid states across the country have been in the triple digits for a while we had been mid to low 90's. Looks like we are in for it now though. 105 yesterday and calling for it all week.

Tin Nugget,
It has been easily 100+ around here the last few weeks. I don't know when we will get a break. Me and Mastereagle have been hunting a lot in this heat, as I am sure most of you all are and it sure has been tough.

Haven't gone anywhere yet....ha/ha....I did some detecting this weekend at Colonial Beach, VA...and got a tad overheated. Whewwwww!

Monty, I'm still staying in Ponca City at the Fairfield Inn. Unless they changed the geography on me, it's only a hop-skip-and a jump to Caldwell. Ya gotta remember...here in Wash DC...I drove to work in DC....40 miles one way....and on a GOOD day it would take me 2 hours....and going home, usually 3 hours. Now...on a snow day...figure around 4-5 hour drive each way. So...from Ponca to Caldwell...piece of cake....unless those jackalopes run out onto the highway...............Wheeewwwwww dogggies. Those jackalopes can really do some damage to your car. :o :o :o :o And, don't get me started on those snipes.........man, can they run fast.... ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Hey, Bran...hope you do come...would be nice to meet ya finally!

I look forward to meeting all the new faces and the old dudes and dudettes I met on the Missouri hunt. But it won't be the same. My wife once again proved she was smarter than me. She asked me very nicely to drop off a bag of her old clothes and msc. at the Goodwill store a couple of weeks ago. Being the gentleman that I am I said , Sure thing dear", and took them over and even got a tax receipt. Then a couple of days ago I started looking for my lucky blue prospecting shirt. Guess where it is? I thought about going over to Goodwill and buying it back, but it was in such shape I doubt they put it on the rack to resell. If they only knew it had magical properties! And I have lost an old friend. M :'( nty

Monty...here's a solution....go buy it back...bring it to the CTH....use its mystical powers....and at the end of the hunt, we will have a ceremonial funeral for it....you can dig a 6 ft hole and bury it with full metal detecting honors. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

OHHHHHNOOOOOO, Monty! :o No BLUE shirt?!? :-\ What to do? Tell ya what, there's a Thrift store down the road from me. I'll go and take a look and see if they may have an even better lucky shirt for ya! ;)

;D Nana

Nix on the digging :D, I'm too old and fat! I imagine the building maintenance guy has it in his rag bag by now, it had so many holes and frayed seams. But I found my best finds wearing it and maybe that's why I have had such a lousy year so far? I haven't been wearing it. All good things come to an end I suppose, but I have another favorite shirt that is almost aged enough to qualify. Now if my wife just doesn't see it .....but she is clever. Monty

Speaking of blue....I will be bringing blue chairs this year, Eric. Leaving the orange ones at home. ;D :D

AND speaking of chairs, Ros mentioned the 'What to bring' list that Judie made for us last year. Need to see if we can bring that back up.

;)

Nana, Blue chairs will be good, but purple would be even better. ;D (Kansas State) I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, it should be a great time. I think Stan has really lined up a great site for us. Take care, Eric

War Eagle! ;D

FYI
Made reservations at Caldwell Motel, they had 1 room left for the days of the hunt.

Good goin' Ros! ;)

Who's bringing kids? and how old are they?

My son is 17 and wants to come, of course at that age, it may be subject to change without notice.

Been tryin to talk my a$$ into coming. If she comes, he may want to stay home...unsupervised. Scary thought.
