The Deus Makes A Big First Silver Find - Spanish Cob

Getting used to the deus and made a neat find today. 9" down, rang in crystal clear, last signal I dug on my way to pack up and I didn't even know what it was until it dried up.
Haven't washed it yet and will post better pics once I do.
This far exceeded my wildest thoughts on what I would find on this hunt!

The age of grounds containing cobs is mind boggling. Simply put, not many of us ever find them so congrats!!!

Thanks for the kind words guys! This is certainly one of those "if only it could talk". The story of how this made it from Mexico in the 1600s to what is now central virginia must have been quite a journey!!!

Great find. Deus eats them small silvers for lunch. Wouldn't clean it. The dirt gives it contrast.

Congrats to the OP, on one I need, & GW I was thinking the same thing (I get smaller pieces of lead than this as well)
