With the good weather finally sticking around, I have been doing more hunting and less posting...shame on me! Here are some of my recent hunts.
This was nine days of being challenged by rain, wind and muddy conditions. But I got out when I could, and just compiled the hunts into one display. These were local parks and school grounds, and put my clad count up to $275.00 year to date.
Earlier this week I spent two days detecting my daughter and son in laws property after tearing down an old shed and cleaning up the yard so they can list the place for sale. On day one I got my first solid gold ring since I started detecting 11 months ago. This hunt was also the first time I got multiple silver coins in the same day. All the finds went back to the daughter and SIL, and now his parents want me to detect three of their properties, one of which is in a resort community and built in 1938.
Today I was invited to detect a school property that was built in 1850. The property and another one down the road have been hunted frequently by a detecting club nearby, but we all know that no site is ever hunted out. I only dug three good targets in three hours of 90 degree heat, but keeper #2 was worth it all...we shall go back here down the road when the public gardens on the site are all harvested.
