The New Forum: Gripes, Issues and Other Mentionables... by diggummup

whaa.webp

Probably too much of THIS going on. How many times can you have guests in your house ***** about the way you run it before you either ask THEM to leave, or shut the party down altogether...

One more gripe, every time I type a response then add a quote afterwards the response disappears and I have to type it again, Hence this EDIT. But I guess you don't REALLY care about the concerns of the dedicated and contributing members of this site after all. The post was a legitmate one, period. Makes me wonder.

Speak for yourself newbie. I'm not a guest anywhere. The purpose of the thread was not to ***** as you so chose to describe it. You weren't even around before the changeover long enough to have a say in this matter, your opinion means nothing on this thread.

AWESOME attitude! :-) lol... You must be a real PEACH in person!

In my 18 years in law enforcement, I learned two things. 1. The person that protests with the most violence, usually feels guilty about something and 2. If you have a dispute between two neighbors, it doesn't matter WHO has lived there the longest, jerks are jerks and they will usually use the "I was here FIRST" defense to cover up their overreaction.

I won't take up any more of your time, you're busy raging about the way things were. How about making the best of the way things ARE?

Happy Hunting! :-)

If you quote someone then type you response above or below it you should be fine. You can also click "go advanced" to see how it will look before you actually make the post.

diggummup,

glad to see your post is still around.

have a good un........

I see your also a comedian. Typical LEO attitude to boot.

Responding with violence? You really went off on a tangent with that one didn't you?

The "I was here first" has nothing to do with covering up an overreaction. It has to do with, "you have no dog in this race". I guess I can't blame you there, 18 years on the force will do that to a person of a certain mentality.
If you were actually able to comprehend what I was stating in my original post, you would know it was NOT about "raging," it was about listing things that I thought needed to be addressed on this site during the "tweaking" process of the new software. A thread where other members and contributors could voice their opinions and concerns as well. But nooo, in typical Barney Fife style, you chose to view it as a hostile type of situation and post the first and only childish response to the thread. When I am attacked I fight back, you drew first blood Mr. "RESPONDING WITH VIOLENCE" with your response to me. And i'm not a real peach, i'm a Florida Cracker, don't forget it.

Dean, actually.
;-)
You're used to intimidating people in real life aren't you?

Dang guys, nothing to get so pissed about. We can't always agree on everything. Would I like the old format back? Yes, but it's not going to happen so I try to make the best of the situation.

My original post was NEVER about getting the old forum back. I'm all for progress and I have nothing against the overall transition of the forum. That's my whole point in responding to Mr. Former LEO the way I did. His failure to comprehend this and his childish response, was what prompted my intitial negative reaction towards him. As previously stated "it was about listing things that I thought needed to be addressed on this site during the "tweaking" process of the new software. A thread where other members and contributors could voice their opinions and concerns as well." It was NOT whining, if you read some of my posts on other threads of this nature then you will see what I have already stated in previous posts. I am not one of the ones threatening to leave the forum because I can't figure it out. I'm one of the ones who is trying to get the admins. to make it more user friendly for those that can't figure it out. I also voiced my opinion on certain features I think are useless and unnecessary, which is what I did on this thread, which is probably why they deleted it.

Diggummup is clearly trying to help make the new TN better, he said so in his opening post(if I can ever find it lol), and your cry baby post was uncalled for and the rest of your comments completely unfair and probably against TN rules..

Newbies are welcome but as a newbie, wouldnt it be smarter to sit back, listen and learn, instead of whatever you are trying to do? He has worked hard here since 2004 and so have I and you just insulted him for all his hard work and in doing so insulted me as well..

If the oldtimers are asked to leave, there will be no TN.

Hello Michigan. Its very clear to me that Diggummup is trying to do exactly that. (Make best of the situation)

The first post has disappeared and I realize now that Diggit never read it.

I got to commend you Diggummup for trying to help but maybe its not worth it. Our suggestions have disappeared possibly along with free speech. Things have changed here overnight. The best option may be to sit back and watch for awhile and see if the new owners can work it out.

You may be a great guy Digit (I dont know) but you are the instigator here and then it went back and forth. You called cry babys but you NEVER read the post. I read it and it was legit. It was not a cry baby post like some of mine lol..

Hey Diggumup, I had the same thing happen to me, but I noticed a button on the lower left that says "restore auto save" and my text popped back up in the reply box.

Guys, first off the post wasn't removed and was never gone. It was merged with the existing thread that was there discussing the same issues, for a couple of reasons.

1. Having a ton of threads about the same issue makes it harder to keep up with. I can't respond to issues in 25 different threads.

2. Very often the complaint or problem has already been discussed and answered. Hopefully if it's all in one thread someone can see it and get help so they don't just assume it's broken and instead learn the true method, answer, fix, etc.

It's here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...w-software-help-bug-glitch-report-thread.html

Mostly the last 2 or 3 pages of that thread. Please see my very long response in particular, here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...-bug-glitch-report-thread-27.html#post2740831

Which is a perfect example of this handy feature ;) I've had quite a few people say "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS AUTO SAVE THING!!!" and getting mad at it when it's actually very very handy.

Ok thanks John. Ill read it. Its very long and maybe Diggummup will see it. With the beginning gone, this thread is useless but now I understand what happened. You have a tough job.

On the old forum, there used to be a notice that "the thread has been moved to its proper place" or something like that so we will know what happened and can find it.

Woe Shermanville. Its not like you to gripe. It says you started this thread. :happysmiley:
