Yesterday I found a republican blues button with an Ives Kendrick backmark. It really is in great shape with the shank intact. An Austrian “ein Kreuzer” (apparently all of them are dated 1816), and an 1850s clothing token that had me thinking I dug a gold eagle for a second 🤣. Here are some other finds from the past few weeks to go along with it.

There has been over 300 flat buttons pulled from this site

Some things are or are not photographed

Also from this site are two 1/2 reales and a 1 reale
One piece eagle A
2 piece eagle R
Staff officers eagle
A navy diplomat that will be possibly published in an upcoming button book
A coin silver handle
A coin silver spoon handle
1851 large cent, 1819 large cent
My first shield nickel
Two KG II’s
And this was also my first arrowhead I’ve found!

FIRST arrowhead? That looks like a Paleo Clovis or thereabouts! It's a killer point, some folks go all their lives and never find one that old. Check out "clovis culture" on the net!

Smokey I knew better than to call it that 🤣[emoji51] I will check it out Thanks!

That’s a smoker of a point that you found.

Thanks I posted it over in the Native American forum for input. I guess maybe I should get some better pics with measurements

That's a heck of a site you're working. The Republican Blues is a tight Confederate button, but the stone artifact is what really grabbed my attention. The shape and the fluting are screaming Paleo/Clovis to me, but I'm no expert. Post it on the North American Indian Artifact forum if you haven't already.

Very Very Nice!!! Cool point!! Super old!!! Congrats!!!

I sure did, the crap is EVERYWHERE out there. My buddy pulled out a Chatham artillery don’t tread on me button. Other guy found an 1812 artillery button. Other guy found a reale....just insane. Not a lot will measure up to this spot in the future...if any at all.

Outstanding hunt, big congrats! :icon_thumleft:

I'm guessing you're hunting around Savannah based on the Republican Blues and Chatham Artillery, because that's where most of them come from. I bought a Chatham Artillery button from a buddy in Savannah.

Sure am, and where about in PA are you from? I’m from West Mifflin, outside of Pittsburgh. Heading up that way towards the end of the month. Hope to do some digging.

I live in Carnegie, grew up in Ligonier, if our schedules work out maybe we can get out somewhere. But I think Savannah has spoiled you :laughing7:

Savannah has definitely spoiled me. There’s good stuff up that way too, just have to get on it! Ligonier would be a nice place to hunt lmao

I do a lot of detecting around Ligonier. My parents still live there.

Where are you detecting...an old button factory? Crazy good finds. Major congrats to you!

Must have been lol. On a serious note I think it had to have been a trading post or something that had A LOT of traffic.
