Saw this on the dive boat and had to get one. A diver was using it to trim off the spines from the lionfish he speared. He told me the built-in shears cut through fishing line and nets like butter (as well as lionfish spines). Great dive safety item, I just thought I would pass it on.

They are a great dive tool...that being said...ya can't travel with em....even in checked bags..last THREE have all been "confiscated" ( read stolen) from my checked bag by TSA. At $70 + shot...no more.

Seriously? Why would they care if it was in checked baggage, as long as it isn't a bomb?

Thanks for the warning, Kurt. I guess I'll just leave it at home when I fly to the Bahamas to dive with Kevin.

Ship it over to Kevin so it will be there when you get there, then you can just ship it back home before you leave. The shipping costs are a lot cheaper both ways than paying to replace the tool.

No rust so far. The guy at the dive shop who sold it to me sprayed it with silicone and told me to rinse it after every dive and spray it periodically. Like I said above Kev, if you get one spend the extra $20 and get the big one. The smaller one would be too easy to drop.

The shears are sharp. They cut through paracord like butter.
