Thoughts / opinions on the "Time Change(s)" ... "scratch this post".

Personally... it screws me up.
Seems like as soon as I am on a schedule that my body- mind is use to...
It is time again for the time change...
Maybe it is a conspiracy to keep us all tired all the time.

Was brought about by Benjamin Franklin. And I agree... it's a dumb thing.

I see the reason behind it. The DST concept was invented by some guy in New Zealand (I think), and it was supposed to be for all of the businesses that had to capitalize on daylight hours, especially farming. I see why we do it, but I also think it sucks like LEAN, KAISEN, 5S, and all the other BS that messes with a perfectly good life.

Arrgg...
I chalk that guy up in the same ranks as the guy who decided to put a lime in a Corona beer.

Introduced in the UK in 1916 to assist the war effort. Copied by the US in 1918 for same reason.

Both time changes mess me up for a week. Maybe we should put the lime in the coconut?!?!

The lime in Corona is only tolerable if you wash it down with mezcal. :tongue3:

Personally, I wish we would just stick with "Summer hours". I love sunsets at 8:30 in the evening. I don't mind that it's dark when I get up. I do like the feeling of having more daylight time at the end of the day.

Afghanistan figured it out.

They split the difference by 30 minutes and have left it alone since.

Don't know how to cut and paste, so I'll just paraphrase this ; Old Indian proverb only the government can cut the top off a blanket, sew it to the bottom and say it's a longer blanket. Makes sense to me.

Msbeepbeep · Mar 10, 2015

It's not to profit the little guy that's for sure!

I can't cut or paste either, whammy.

It seems to screw my body system up until it adjusts.I think one original reason they did it is so farmers had more time to work in the fields.Look at the bright side.Gives us more time to hunt in the evenings.

Yep. Daylight Slaving Time.

CincinnatiKid · Mar 10, 2015

Actually, I look forward to the change. Allows me to work later.
Although this past weekend, it also allowed my employees a semi-legit reason to be 1hr. late. Oh well, I did the same in my early 20s.

Peace ✌

I have to change the time on all my antique clocks, and if i'am supposed to be somewhere...I'am late! Or early..... :BangHead:

Ahab8 · Mar 10, 2015

Sadly an oil truck delivery driver died from a heart attack at the neighboring house to my job site yesterday. 50 years old. They say there more heart attacks on the Mobday after a time change than any other day

luvsdux · Mar 10, 2015

I basically like it, but if totally up to me it would be a half hour ahead and permanent, all year.

Southern Indiana didn't observe DST until 2006, so for most of my life I never had to worry about it. We stayed on the same time year round, never had to change our clocks or lose an hour of sleep or anything. So I'm fairly new to the whole DST thing, but I would have to say I'm not a big fan of it, in fact I'd have to say I hate it!!

I heard that on the news... that this is common ... tis a trip man.

The only time that I have "liked" the time change is when I have been in a bar...
or "out" late... and the time goes BACK an hour.
